Any estimate on the weight of a 25-26 inch fish ( fairly thick body), I caught a hog late Thursday night at Fork, didn't have a scale with me!

Stayed at motel/lodge on the lake, I was just passing thru on business trip, always carry a rod with me, threw a spinner off their dock, and BAM! Around 10:30 at night, released the fish...now wondering what I had weight wise??? It was a NICE fish, could have been PB for me. I did lay it down in back of truck really quick to mark the length in my truck floor before I released it.

Thanks
Joe

Hard to do without a girth measurement -even then those calculators vary widely. Sucks you forgot your scale man!
I have witnessed fish that was only 23" long that weighed 13.22 and a 30.25" fish that weighed 9.89. Pick a good number, heck make it a double digit lol smile

Girth x Girth x Length divided by 800= weight of your fish. Nice toad by the way.

Joe,

I caught one last June that was 25" that went 7.72 in our Media event but had one in February that bearely went 22.5" that was 9.70...

If your 25.5" fish had any body girth at all it could have easily gone Ten Pounds.

I sent you a PM.

Ken

My 11 lbr was 25" x 20.5 at Axtons (Fork)in '03. The calculations figures at around 12, so it is pretty accurate. Great fish anyway and congrats!

Pull some line off your reel and cut a piece for the length and then the girth. You can figure the math later.

That is about the best answer for this question.

I would say, by my experience; that a 25-26 inch bass is usually at least 8 lbs! Unless it is noticably thin!

Yesterday at Purtis Creek, my friend caught a 26' bass. She was not a football but was fat. Unoffically, she was 13.74 on the park scales. The lake record is 13.73. If they certify scales, then it will be record.Roy w/ Forney Christian Anglers Association

Fork is one of those lakes where length is only a number.. We've seen 20" Pure Florida Pre-Spawn LMB weigh 9#
and 25" Northern Strain LMB weigh 5.5# but if it was a healthy F-1 Post Spawn it was most likely in the 9-10# range.

Very Nice Fish regardless of her weight
cheers
