I have been using the Deep Diver in the Sexy Shad color. It works and does catch fish. They all run good out of the package and the hooks are quality. Rumor is they are Lucky Craft "knock-offs". The colors are the same.
For the price they are hard to pass up.

(Sorry for the off thread topic response.)

all the reels are very smooth, the cranks are really good but at my academy they are running out of the good colors and they havent got any more in in a while.

I was holding a pflueger Trion (my usual pick) at Academy a couple of weeks ago when the guy behind the counter handed me an H2O "Mettle" and said "here, try this". Well I ended up leaving with it and the extra $50 that I saved I used to buy a new rod. You talk about bang for your buck. You won't find another reel with a 10 bearing system and reels as smooth as this. Im sold. I've used it on 3 different outings including once in Mexico on 5 and 6 lb. bass all day long with no problems at all.
Excellent buy. Good post Booker.

Oh I forgot to mention the crankbaits......AWESOME. Go buy a Lucky Craft and set it next to one of these and show me the difference in appearance. I've bought already about 15 of em and the ones I've thrown so far all run true outta the box. Plus they use VMC hooks on em too. Bonus. Again, for $3 a piece you absolutely can't go wrong. Jerkbaits are not my most popular choice of lure but I tell you what, these things make me hungry just lookin at em'.

Save your money on the deep diving cranks. They are not weighted good, they flutter out like a duck, and do not dive that deep. They did do a good job on the paint though.

That's exactly right. The run good, but cast terrible. I can throw a DD22 almost 15 yards farther than one of these.

But how much did you pay for those reels? You need to remember we are talking about a line of reels all under $75.00. Trust me Im not saying these are the "next" green curado, just worth every bit of the $49.86 they are asking for it.

just my $.02

When people realize what is really important in life there will be a shortage of fishing rods.

I bought one this morning. $50 (Mettle) 6.3:1 Ratio with 10 ball bearings. The guy behind the counter said "They have a lifetime warranty. If they break bring them back and they will be replaced." (So he said.) There is no warranty on the papers or on the box. Time will tell. It's alot cheaper than the Diawa Viento I got suckered into for $199. 2 years old and sounds like a coffee grinder! I swore I would stick with my Ambassaduers but I guess I will try this one since it is inexpensive.

The H20's are just fine for me. I have curado 200e's also, I fish my H20's just as much. They don;t make replacement pawls for em, so If one goes out, you gotta go get a brand new reel, but If you ask me, it's well worth 50 bucks. I have heard horror stories about the others in their line, handles breaking, etc, but the mettles are great.

I have 2 Maraud reels that are very smooth. I've had no handle issues. The crankbaits are excellent. The finish holds up better than any other brand I have. VMC hooks, true running, etc.
