Any one ever fish it?

Great place to relax and catch some nice BASS, every now and then you stick a BIG GIRL.

There was a 8+ caught out of there last year.

I'd be surprised to see that. I'm not calling anyone a liar or anything, but I was born and raised in Rockwall, '92, and that was a muddy old pond then. I've never seen a bass worth a damn come out of it. I guess with that opinion, if it's changed, I won't hear a new opinion, but I really doubt you're going to knock anything worth anything there. Park fishing? Great. Anything else? Bad. There used to be some great catfishing there, so I hear, but that was all.

lmao.....I have caught several Bass over 5 lbs and one that weighed 8lbs. 13 ozs. in just the last year. This was private property before 3 years ago and belonged to the Aluminum Plant. Unless you were allowed and had permission you never fished this mud hole legally or long enough to find out its value. I am all for taking my little kids here one day and hope it remains a decent fishery until then.

You need to check your scale then. Three years ago? That park has been there much much longer than that. Regardless of who owned it, back then you didn't have to run around asking everyone for permission just as long as you didn't tear the fence up or trashed the place out, I fished it many times. You may be right about the aluminum plant owning it, but that doesn't ring a bell.

lmao.....any time you want to meet me out there I am game. I promise you my scale is accurate(+/- 2 oz.) and I never take a scale when bank fishing "EXCEPT" when fishing Harry Meyers and a small golf course pond behind my house. I have caught a lot of nice bass from there as a couple of members here can attest. Sorry you feel different but if it keeps the likes of you away then all the better. To make sure you are talking about the same pond out there...I am talking of the bigger pond with the bridge and wooden dock.

As far as the Park goes....yes it has been there for years...but didn't expand until 3-4 years ago. The expansion is what got them the big pond with the later added bridge/dock and the rest of the land from the Aluminum Plant. In the last 3 years there has been a disc golf course added, a jogging trail, and a water shower park.

If you feel the need to disagree then feel free to do so by way of private message.

Torquetwister is right about this pond, great place to fish.

There's a fine line between fishing and just standing on the boat looking like an idiot.

I have been to Caruth but for some sort of family picnic or something. Didn't have a rod but it looked awesome. I have not been to or even heard of the others mentioned. I do know that there are some nice bass down the road in Rowlett north of 66 just before you get to Centerville Rd.

Actually, I drove out there yesterday and I'll have to admit that I had no idea that the new pond was even there. I was talking out of my arse about something that was 20 years old and not realizing the improvements to the park. I didn't do any fishing, but the big one does look good. I'm sorry I spoke without knowing what the hell I was talking about. I use to know the place only with that dinky mudhole up front. Sorry if I offended.

lol....its all in good fun man. I had a feeling you hadn't seen the bigger pond. The bigger pond has actually been there for over 60 years....at least that is what the oldest guy I know told me that has lived near there since the early 1940's.
