My family is having a get together at Cedar Creek this weekend. I have only fished that lake once and it was for a BassChamps event a few years ago. I was going to take the boat if I thought I could catch some crappie. Any suggestions would be appreciated. PM me if necessary. I assure you that I will not be back to this lake in the forseeable future so don't worry about your spots being taken. Thanks in advance.

You can catch some crappie around the bridge pillars...about 15'-20' down on 1/16 and 1/8 ounce jigs. If you have anything that is white/chart, or a silver/shad color, I'd recommend that right now...or get you some minnows in the same depth Not sure what part of the lake you are going to be on, but that should get you some fish in the boat ;)_

good luck, maybe these guys have steered you in the right direction. If it were me i would hit submerged timber in the lower part of the lake. I would focus on the 20-25ft depth and expect to find your fish about 3/4 of the way down the tree. If your not sure where any submerged timber is, look in the Caney arm of the lake. There is an entire forest out there in about 18-30ft of water. You may also catch a few on the bridge, boat docks, or brush piles, but dont get your feelings hurt when you dont bring many crappie back. They are known for being slow this time of year on Cedar creek. We will on accasions have good crappie trips this time of year but overall they are just slow until fall. Have a fun trip! Good Luck!
