My friend has a lake house down on the SE side of Limestone and I got the invite to come down this weekend. I fished the lake once in a club tournament about 12 years ago in Feb, so I would not say I "know the lake". They have a small bass boat and I am bringing down the bass buster for kicks.

I know about the boat docks which is probably what I will fish, but one of my buddies going with is not the most experienced (not even going to try him on boat docks) so looking at maybe some C-Rigs for bass or even some structure for slabbin sandies. Any thoughts or general recommendations?

I've had my best luck lately up the lake between the power line and Big Creek. I fished late yesterday and caught several good blacks on a windy point and slabbed some whites that were holding around 14 ft. down in 19 ft. water. I've had better luck on black bass the last few weeks than I've had all year. It can be a fickle lake for blacks.

If you are starting out on south part of the lake, you might try some of the coves up Running Branch. Particularly some of the bigger coves on the left. I have caught several good blacks in this area over the past few weeks, mostly in 4-7 ft off the bank. As Ben says, blacks seem to be doing pretty well lately.

On Limestone, a lot of people seem to fish only boatdocks. I'll fish some docks during the week, but the good ones get pounded on the weekends this time of year. On weekends I fish a lot of points, especially ones with some cover. Crankbaits are good to start with (red bandits are hard to beat)and if you catch a fish, slow down and work the area with soft plastics. Grandebass rattlesnakes have been very good to me lately on Limestone. Any dark color will get you bit.
