I am changing the position of the bow mounted trolling motor due to the dealer messing up the topcap and cracking the fiberglass near the rubrail. That is a whole other story!
This is a Ranger 522 and a MotorGuide PTSv 109 motor. I know the shaft needs to be 2"-3" clear of the boat edge and I don't want to drill the holes as close to the edge as the dealer did.
Are there any "standard" ways to center the trolling motor so it will fit under the cover as well? Is it just centered side-to-side on the rubber mat? Should the top of the trolling motor rest over the topcap or over the carpet?
