Been thinking of buying some Vanish to try for drop shot rig. Not sure it would make a diff since I have caught fish using XT Green 10#. Any opinions as to whether it's worth trying? It does appear that it is much thinner in diameter # for #. How is it for casting, stretch, and scrape resistance? Thanks.

Broke off 14 pound vanish leader a few times, not at the knot either.
Seems like lots of people like P-line, but haven't tried it yet.

Forget Vanish it will break. Try P-Line. I've been using it for 1 1/2 years and love it. You will have to change it out every 5 to 10 trips because it looses its coating and holds on to more memerory. Also very sensitive.

Vanish is very brittle if the outer coating is disturbed at all. Someone recommended Seaguar to me and I have had luck with it on my C-rigs. I know Yamamoto does it but I don't think I would spool a whole reel with it. Remember, when you tie a knot or abrade the line, the strength of this stuff goes way down.
