 Can Anyone Tell Me What Kind Of Fish This Is ???

my son went down to a local creek after work today and caught this fish on his fly rod. It is colored differently than the Longeared Sunfish and bluegill he has been catching. I'm sure someone knows and I would appreciate your thoughts.

I agree Meadowlark, the markings on that fish are spectacular. Frank said it put up a good fight on his ultra light fly rod. He was fishing a larger fly rod Hula Popper in hopes of catching a bass but so far he has been catching longear sunfish, bluegill and this Warmouth or Google Eye. He is having a blast. How he has the energy to mow 30 yards in a day and then go fishing is hard for me to understand. One of the benefits of being 19 years of age I guess.

Has he tried a Miss Prissy yet? You can get them from WalMart.
Usually really effective on those fish...and a real killer is to tie a small dropper fly about 18 inches behind the Prissy...sometimes get doubles...but hey you're doing great without any backseat drivers like me so keep up the good work!

Warmouth are beautiful fish.
Tell him to go down there once it gets good and dark (that is if it's safe to do so in that area) and his chances of a top water bass will go way up.
