See if you can get an idea from this<-------clicky

Either under a popping cork with a trebel or on a screw lock hook. Screw lock is the idea setup for a gulp as it helps stay on the hook.

I am a little ignorant to some of this also. I have fished very little at the coast but will also be trying the Gulp this summer. When you rig them under a popin cork how do you hook them? I assume you don't hook them through the horn like a live shrimp. SPB- what is a screw lock hook. I appoligize for the silly questions but I really don't want to assume I know what you are talking about and screw it up. With the price of gas this trip is costing me my kids college education money so I really want to catch fish!

1/16 or 1/8th jig heads for gulp fished on the bottom. Weightless if fished under a [censored] with a small split shot about 10 inches above the shrimp to keep it down. You can hook them many ways, sometimes wacky rigged, but mostly hooked in the middle of the back works for me. You can also use a 3/0 or 4/0 worm hook for the 3" and 4" models hooked just like a worm. Screw Lock http://www.fishingtackleunlimited.com/p/FTU/c-inshore-hooks/NOR-NLL.htmlYou can also rig just like a bass bait, Texas, Carolina, weighless.. Carolina rigging works in the flats when you wanna kick up some sand for reds and trout. *EDIT* I forgot to add Tru-Tungsten makes a jig called the Redfish Stealth which is a better screw lock setup than the other link. http://www.tru-tungsten.com/cart.php?target=category&category_id=22-z-

I guess I will try all mentioned above until I find what they are wanting to eat.

also try a flutter hook, and rig it up weedless. it works great on or around oyster reefs and close to the weedlines without getting hung up. i mostly use 1/8 with a 3/0 or 4/0 hook size.

I have good luck with them on a 1/16 or 1/8 flutter hook under a mansfield mauler or cajun thunder cork.
BTW, Bass Pro calls these hooks "Vertical Drop Hooks". Took me a long time to find em the 1st time I went looking.
