I've grown to love largemouth bass fishing in Texas.

However, I've got to say that it's not as great as everyone thinks it is for one reason and one reason only.

RIDICULOUS Wind.

By far and away, this has been the windiest 6 months for the past 20 years. It's absolutely ridiculous. 98% of the the days in this 6 month period the wind has been blowing at 20+ mph.

Horrific.

I opted not to fish my regular Wednesday night tournament last night due to the 30+mph constant wind. Its still blowing at 25mph today, and they are expecting another windy day tomorrow. This has definitely been one of the windier years I can remember.

I have learned that instead of fighting it, use it to my advantage. Now I hate it when there's no wind.

im glad i moved back to east texas a few years ago. those dallas lakes can be h_ll due to the lack of a wind break. i bought a new fish finder on monday and im having to wait till this weekend to try it out due to the 30mph winds.

I'm about the point that it really does not bother me. I just go fishing and try to use it to my advantage as far as positioning fish and such. Trust me into July and August you'll pray for a little wind.

I don't know about you but I pray for it to be dead calm and 105 degrees and not a cloud in the sky. I grew up fishing in those conditions as a kid and figured them out I know one or two people that love those conditions as well.

I have to agree with Mark. Ive come to the conclusion that it is always going to be windy in Texas.
I fished Fork yesterday and should I say, staying on my deep spots was VERY tough! The front of my boat was like riding the bull at Gileys! But, you can still catch fish in the wind.

But Mark's comment about August is right on, you'll be wishing for wind on those 100+ days with no wind!

Sinkey how was it casting those 7' C'rig leaders in the wind. Have put the video out yet on how to cast them. I used them two weeks ago on Amistad after talked about them. I am a believer.
Second cast 8.5 and many over five. Caught 3 fish to my partners every one. Thanks.
