Me and my brother are goin to head down to Lake Timpson Sunday, and I was wondering if anyone had some advice they would be willing to share about this lake. I know its a good LMB lake, small lake (more like large pond), but lots of decent fish. Havent been down there in years, and my brother has never been down there. So any heads up information would be much appreciated.

My dad stuck a 7 out there yesterday on a 10 blueflek power worm. Best advice i can give you about that lake is head all the way to the back past the island and find the creek channels that meander through there and work them over. might want to try a jitterbug or a buzzbait early in the morning. That is a great lake tho, one of my favorites good luck hope this helps some .

The 1st or 2nd cove on your right out of the launch is pretty good, there is a creek in the back on the right hand side, we caught quite a few in the back of that cove last year on senkos in the grass. Also all the way in the back of the lake is a nice feeder creek, if you can get back around those trees in there its also pretty good, black and blue tubes worked well for us. Its also a great night fishing lake around the boathouses with lights.

It does have some good fish in it for only being 200 acres. i would stay around the deeper channel that runs through the lake. I know it comes in very close to the small island near the boat docks on the west side. I fished a small tournament out there at the end of april and some of the fished weighed in were caught on the edges of the channel just outside the island. Most were caught on live perch but you should be able to texas rig a big worm or weightless senko and catch fish in or around the channel. There is plenty of grass right there too. In the past, the night fishing has been really good with a black/blue senko once the water temps get up in to the mid 80's.

Thanks for the advice, my dad had said something about a channel that ran through there over by that island. From what everyone is sayin, this lake has little hot spots all over it, sounds like if we play our cards right, we could have some serious fun this weekend.

How did the day end up? I also live in Henderson and have wondered about that lake. I've read a lot about it on the internet, but haven't tried it myself. Any information would be appreciated.

Man me and my brother had a blast. We were the first ones on the water at day break, and the last boat to trailer up come dark. Fished all day long. Id have to say over half the lake is very shallow. we stayed in 4'-2' of water most of the mornin and evenin, the bottom of all the coves and probably almost the whole north end of the lake is vegetation. yellow, yellow/blue, green/orange mini king spinner baits work good around the banks, but hard to use in alot of places b/c the plant life is so thick and tall you are constantly de-weeding your spinners. Worms were the way to go seemed like, red and pink colores seemed to work better in the evening, and green and white worms seemed to work better in the mornin. My brother was having alot of luck on some kind of frog one of his friends let him use, they were hammering it. we caught alot on spinners, but the bigger fish were on the worms, id have to say 8-9 of the fish we caught on worms were 2-3 pounds, everything else around a pound to pound and a half. We totaled out at 18 bass by the end of the day, not to bad for not knowing the lake, and we will probably do better next time we go out there now that we have learned some things about it. We never got anything in the boat over 3lbs., but we did hang 3 fish that were well over 5lbs., they just spit the worms. And all 3 of them did manage to wait until they got within 5-10 feet of the boat before they would explode out of the water wave at you and let you know what you could have had as they spit the worm back at ya.
All and all though, awsome lake to fish on. We managed to fish the entire lake, all the way around except for the strech across the dam. We will be back out there though, right after we quit glowin after all the sun we got.
