Hey everyone, Im new here, but had a question i couldnt find an answer to in any of the other forums. Has anybody on here fished Lake Striker much? Its located off 79 bout 15 miles south of Henderson. Its a small lake, and ive been fishing it every chance i get, but aint turnin up much of nothin. Id have to say the biggest bass I have pulled out of there was around a pound and a half, everything else averaging around a pound. This just seems very strange to me. Put me on Lake Tyler or Palestine and I can pull some decent fish, but this lake isnt producing at all from what i can tell. Just lookin to see if anyone has some insight or past experiance on this lake.

sounds like you have been catching some lake records there. ive been on it a few times and found out that bass is not the fish of choice there.

ya, ive kind of picked up on that. truthfully we have caught more spotted bass than largemouth, and i know those tend to stay smaller. ive heard of alot of catfish on that lake, but im more for bass crape and hybrids. oh well, guess im just gonna have to hit Tyler and Plaestine more often.

You need to try Lake Nacogdoches, Lake Murvaul, Lake Timpson, and Lake Pinkston. They all have plenty of big fish in them and are pretty close to you.

I didn't get out this weekend, however I did well the weekend before. Sat on a point with a C-Rig Rattlesnake and caught fish consistantly all morning long. Seemed a lot of people were catching fish in the grass. Everyone seemed pretty happy at the ramp and not much moving around on the lake. Good signs.

Stryker is a tough lake. Have you fished in the creek or just around the Marina Ramp? I didn't know for the longest that fishing from the Marina ramp and all you can see is only half the lake.. The river/creek whatever is where a lot of big fish hide, up in the reeds. Good luck if you go back, I already had my fill of the lake.

PS. There is another ramp but I don't know how to tell you to get there except by water.. LOL

ya ive been up on the north end of the lake a few times, havent been up in the creek much. was actaully plannin on gettin up in the creek sometime this week, just kind of waiting for this rain to die off. ive seen quite a few alligators up on that end of the lake, and they got to be eating somethin, probably all the bigger fish lol. the other ramp isnt hard to find at all, if you ever want directions i can tell you how to get there.
