I fished by myself on Saturday until about noon in the Buck Creek area and again on Monday from daylight till about 9:30 on the Sanger side. Bass fishing was consitsantly good both days with similar patterns working for me on both sides of the lake. I got plenty of blow ups on a Yellow Magic but they were just that blow ups often knocking the bait a foot or two in the air but never coming back to eat it. We caught our best fish on small crank baits in chart/white or chart/blue and carolina rigged soft plastics. The productive pattern for me was to stay moving with most fish coming from secondary points with stick ups, nothing over about 3 ft. deep. Best fish for the two days was about 3.5lbs but all were fat footballs. The Sand bass were coming up well on the Sanger side long enough to catch 20 or so magnums(1.5 to 2lbs) on top water just for fun. Anybow fisherman out there the stinking carp are sitting with there backs out of the water ready for you to get rid of them if you like!(foul hooked one about 8lbs) Anyway good time to get on the lake and have a little fun!
See you on the lake and have a great day!

I also fished Ray Bob over the weekend on Saturday and Monday sun up till noon. Saturday was a heart breaker. I fished a favorite off-shore hump (the one I got three 7 pounders on last weekend) and hooked a giant. She jumped twice, gave me and my son a good look at her then came unbuttoned. We both dropped to our knees and almost cried. We both agree she was well over 10 lbs. Caught a few more in the area on Saturday. All on T-Rig Zoom 9" worms in cedar bushes about 6 to 10 ft deep.
Monday morning I went to the same spot looking for redemption and on my 2nd cast had a good one on, fought well, got her into the boat and she was 4 lbs even. No other fish from that area for the next several hours. I moved to a creek and fished the flats 1/2 way back in the creek with Senkos, Rattle traps and spinnerbaits. Caught about 5 or 6 more all in the 2 to 3 pound range.
I will be out of town the next 2 weekends so not on the lake for a while. The lake and the fish are in good shape as noted by the post above and others. We should enjoy a good summer.

What's the "great news" Chris? The fact that the fishing is still pretty good, or The fact that I won't be there for 2 weeks Tucson
