I need to replace all of the locks on my boat and do not want to go back in with the plastic handles.
The hole I have is 2 1/4" diameter. I want to use the T-Handles but can not find any thing that will fit without grinding out the opening.
Any suggestions??
Perko's website is horrible!

I have the black plastic perko latches in my basscat, in my opinion the worst thing you could put in a boat. plastic gets hot and it get soft then it breaks. does not take much to break them at all.

there needs to be something better duel

Agreed! I feel lucky that I got 3 years out of mine.

If I don't get any suggestions here, I guess I'll shell out the $200+ for the T-handles and have a grinding party! Let me know if you want to join me Mike.

West Marine's web site has a pretty good selection.

LOL!! i have to use pliers and pry up the edge of my cooler in the floor cause the plastic perko came apart... too cheap to buy new ones .. waiting on the carpet to get done before changing to the silver T handles.... check this website out. extremely fast shipping, and I have been nothing short of 100% pleased with what I have bought from them.

Check Academy. I found some locking metal locks there, think they may have been Perko. They fit the original holes on my Triton---can't recall but think they were 2 1/4".

Thanks J O F. I looked at those today. How do they compare to the Perko? They are quite a bit cheaper but since I will have to grind out my openings anyway, I want to make sure the quality is the same.

I replaced all my older Perko's about a year ago and have had no problems. Certainly better than the one's that came on my boat that had the wire loops to raise the lid. Your existing holes may be big enough to handle these, mine were. I also liked that the locking tab was steel rather than the flimsy plastic tab that was on the Perko's.
