OP Smash-Tech Custom Baits Extreme Angler S Joined: Dec 2003 Posts: 2,759 Pittsburg TX	went out on Erie yesterday and had a freakin blast. Caught over 30 smallies on tubes, several doubles and lots of 3-4 lb fish. Caught one on the first cast and kept catching them throughout the day. went with guide Jim Hanley of Northeast Outdoors and if any of yall go up there he is the man. You wouldn't believe how thick those fish are, take a normal size largemouth and they are twice the girth. Weather was really bad all weekend with temps in the 30s and high winds and he said the fishing should have been a lot better but for having never caught a smallmouth it was a trip. Been trying to tell these boys down here that the Great Lakes particularly Lake Erie and the Lower Niagara are the best fresh water fishing resource in the world. Pound for pound those smallies and the steelhead are the strongest freshwater fighters you can find.

We'd fish in Mustang Survival suits and be warm with temps in the single digits and be the only ones on the lake. What do you do in texas when its 100 degrees?
