We fished the Leon river last Saturday and caught them on platics, rattle traps, cranks, swim baits and topwater. There wasn't really anything they wouldn't bite. Have a good time.

Up past the 36 bridge? I don't guess I've ever been up there. Can you run that pretty safely?

We put in at White Flint park right at the 36 bridge and go south under the bridge towards Morgan's point. It is safe to run. I don't think that it is, technically, Lake Belton but the water is just like a lake.

I have been catching lots and lots of little fish. Lots of small bass on pretty much every bank right. One guy said it best the other day...if you can't catch fish right now...you need lessons. I haven't seen many keepers personally though I am fishing for numbers on light tackle. There were lots of bass chasing shad the last couple of days so keep your eyes open. One small school we found Sunday had a 6 incher, a 12 incher and an 18 incher.

I have had a lot of success this year at Belton with numbers and little fish. I fished it two weeks ago and tore the fish up on watermelon seed Baby Ring-Fry and fished them shaky-head. I fished from Rogers Park up to Three Fingers and caught fish pretty much every stop. I caught a lot of keeper fish but the biggest one of the day was about three pounds.

I havent been able to catch anything of size there the since I have been fishing there this year. I have pretty much given up on it and head to Stillhouse. They seem to be a little bigger there. Never the less I pretty much fish with a ultra-lite rig every time.

This is the biggest one I have caught yet this year. Small sparkly crankbait. Stillhouse, its not huge but better than what I had been catching at Belton.
