I have heard that most first timers hardly catch any fish on their first guided trip?

Well, I recently hired a guide to take some customers and myself for a 1/2 day trip on Lake Fork. The tough part was selecting the right guide for the job. I was very fortunate when I finally ran across James Caldemeyer. James stayed in constant contact for several months and handled everything in a very profesional manor. James was very curtious and made my customers feel very comfortable on his boat.

I had a some VIP's with me for this trip who had never fished Lake Fork but had heard all of the great stories! The pressure was on both James and myself to make sure these guys caught some fish. A front had blown throught the previous day and the wind was blowing about 15-25 MPH. it was a little chilly when we pulled out around 6:00 AM.

The first fish my customer caught was 7 lbs 12oz! He screamed like a kid on Christmas morning! I then proceeded to haul in a 6 lb 12oz "Toad" as James called it! We went on to catch a 6lb 2oz and five or six more that were keepers. this was all in a half a day! No, I'm not gonna tell you what we caught'em on! let's just say that i went through about 9 of them in an hour before I caught my frst fish. James is probably laughing if he is reading this!

To all of you first timers, if your gonna fish Lake Fork with a guide - James Caldemeyer is your man!

Sincerely,
First Time "Toad" catcher on Lake Fork!

I could not have said it any better! James is a great guy, a great guide and does a great job. Way to go James! I meet James about a year ago, have been on his boat 3 times. we have talked regularly since, you won't find a nicer guy.

Thanks Brandon...I enjoyed fishing with you and your crew. I will have to remember to bring a "starter bag" of worms for you next time so you can get warmed up. LOL

Take care and I will see you in July!
