Headed down to Amistad the end of this week. Any info would be appreciated especially about the draw down and what, if any, effect it will have on the bite. Thanks a lot.

Just talked with JC, The Amistad Man, and he says it's 15' low right now and the Mexicans are taking it down 4 inches a day. Other than that, he says the fishing is still very good and he's limiting out easily and averaging 2-3 over 6 lbs. each day !

Thanks B. Dee. We're staying at Anglers Lodge and will try to "pick" JC's brain if we see him.

Just got back. Fished 1/2 day Friday all day Sat. and three hours Sunday. You can catch fish on whatever you want right now. We caught well over 100 fish, and approx. 70 fish just on Saturday (best five went 24lbs). Caught most of our fish on topwater, but many came on a shakey head (mostly smaller fish). Majority of fish came in 7 ft or less. Biggest fish of the trip was right at eight, with a handful of fish around 4-5 lbs. I think the fishing will get better with the water warming up (temp was 72-74). Looking good with the water down, hydrilla everywhere!!

Wow, sounds like yall did awesome this weekend. We fished saturday and sunday and only boated about 20 or so between the 4 of us. We were fishing deeper water on the main lake with watermelon candy 10" worms. We tried to fish in some shallower water but didnt have any luck, probably not looking in the right part of the lake though.

Tinberlake - Thanks for your response. Last time we were down the wife and grandaughter caught their PB's. We fished in the Devils River area due to high winds. I did notice that the river fish seemed to be "slimmer" fish than those caught on the main body.

Yeah, I have never had alot of luck in the Devil's myself. We caught fish from the back of San Pedro all the way up the MM 25. Most of the smaller fish came on main lake points up around MM 21-25, seemed like the bigger fish were mid-lake.
