Got a chance to go out after work got to the spot about 6:30. The Ray Roberts size sandies were chasing chad (shad too) 6 - 12". After searching the area about 100 yards I found the Tawakani mediums 12" - 14.5". Hybrids were mixed in. I have not broken off a lure due to a fish for years. I lost two 1 oz lures on two casts, THEY were very nice Hydbrids (Hybrids too) hammer. I was down to 1 1/2 oz lures up and got some nice sandies. I then lost that lure on another hybrid and decided to come home. Don't have a clicker and didn't count. Figure I caught somewhere between around 50. But that wasn't too band for 1.5 hours of fishing, kept 15 and the fellets (fillets too) weight was 4.94 lbs ribs taken out. Watched a lot of boats run by me.

Hey Odds, I was out on LL tonight as well. We caught mostly Dinks. Mind if I ask where you were?

Lake Dallas. Follow the birds and look for chad swimming fast. Or fish chasing shad your choice.

We fished around Lake Park, Twin Poles, and the cut earlier.

All fish were small except a few.

I started at 2pm yesterday and took advantage of the low wind to look for and fish a few new spots. Not muck luck doing that spent alot of time at the Lake Dallas Dam cut catching the dinks, with a few legal sizes mixed in. I didnt see any surface action, most of the birds were just "chillin" in the middle of the lake. About 530 I passed a boat show where Hickory Creek area enters the main lake (I think thats what that area is) But I didnt really want to fish the boat shows, and it didnt look like they were catching much. I fished a hump I never fished before and found legal Hybrids on the first drop! The fish were right on the bottom and were hitting it soft. Bunch of unders there too. Only one other guy stopped by and fished it with me, Neal, who I was fishing with earlier at the Dam cut. Stayed there till dark. Largest was about 23" and approx 6-7lbs. Guessing. Didnt take time to weigh it. I think my biggest problem was that I had it in my head the fishing was going to be messed up do to the front and the rain. I dont know if the Hybrids had been on this hump all day or if it was just an evening thing. I will find out next time out. All my Hybrids were caught on TNT 180's. What kind of Boat were you in Ryno? I was in a Sea Chaser CC.

Busted off all those jigs, huh? You know that knob on the side of your reel that's marked 'drag'? ... smile

Serously, I've been out alot lately and keep losing most of the hybrids I hook up with; some to breakoffs, others just pull the hook. My best guess on breakoffs is that the line rubs over the gillplates & gets frayed quickly.

Overall though, sounds like you had a good day!
