I've been fishing quite a bit this year... I have only recently heard about Lake Fork. Today my brother and I went to Lake Fork for the first time.

It was windy!!! But we didn't get skunked!!!
We caught 3 little bass and a goofy catfish.

I was a bit discouraged that we didn't catch more, however it was a blast to be on the lake all day.

We did see some large bass jumping up in the grass stuff in one of the coves we eased in to. They were absolutly ridiculous and have me already thinking about planning another trip out to Fork?

Any suggestions for our next trip?

Talk to the folks at one of the marinas about whats been happening in recent days. They have always helped me a little and the guys that fish the lake a lot always help out with whats hot as long as their not in a tournament. Try Lake Fork Marina.

dont be discouraged...its a great lake. You have to learn it and even when you think you start to know something about it...the lake will skunk your butt!

But then the next day...you'll nail em! Great fish in the lake for sure!

Whether you think you can or you can't, you are probably right.

I am surprised you didn't catch a big one. Usually, there's something about "first timers" on Fork. I have clients that come for the first time and they are always the ones that catch the big fish for the day.

Welcome to the lake though and come back after the big one!
