I've got several neighbors that fish Lavon for Bass and they always brag about bass fishing on Lavon...
Wish I could help on catfish there, but I've only drive around the lake once looking for a place to fish, and all I found was pay access to the lake so I went to Lewisville.

Brockdale and Highland park ramps are free launch ramps, and not 10 min from you. North of highland park is good catfishing on R&R.
