I'm going down to Choke in a couple of weeks with a friend. If ya wanna share any suggestions - that'd be great, but actually, I'm thinking about staying at the Bass Inn for a couple of nights. I'm not really sold on this since I've read some pretty bad reviews about the place being dirty, electrical outlets not working, etx, etx. Was wondering if any of you have stayed at this place recently and what your experience was like.
Thanks.

I have never stayed at the Bass Inn, but have also heard a lot of bad things about that place. No one in our bass club will stay there. I stay at Choke Canyon Lodge. It is new and a little more expensive, but the rooms are very nice. They also have nice covered parking for the boat. In the evenings they have a nice little pavilion and charcoal grills. We either bring some meat and goodies from the house or stop by the Super S and cook out after we fish. Their number is 361-786-3999.

we stay at the econo lodge in town and the rooms are very nice and for the same price as the bass inn . the last time we stayed at the bass in we found blood all in our shower fish scales all over the room and in our beds that were so hard the floor felt softer. we will never stay at the bass in .

At the first of this year I stayed at the bass with the new mangement. I will not stay there again as long as they are there. Filthy, no water to low water pressure(1 hour to fill toilet), electrical is dangerous if it works, and if you need to get in touch with the management they are gone from about 5-10 pm everynight. Econo Lodge is very nice and they will give bass fishermen discount. Have not stayed at the new lodge.

If you are looking for an individual cabin, Kory's cabins look nice from the outside. I have never stayed in them. They are right before the entrance to the Calliham unit. I don't know the # but if you call the Calliham store I am sure they can give it to you.

In March of 07 I stayed at Cory's cabins and found them to be clean. They have 2 bunk beds, small fridge and a microwave. Water was hot. There were 4 of us. I don't remember the specific price but think it is more $ for 2 vs 4. I have looked for the number but can't find it. I think I called the state prk's office and got the #. The cabin we stayed in had a covered area for your boat. Good Luck

I have stayed at the Bass Inn several times and I will not stay there again. Everytime we go we have complaints about the overall condition of the room. The sheets are dirty and the shower and toilet are dirty. I have talked to the managment and even called ahead to make sure the room was cleaned before we got there and it was not. I would recommend Choke Canyon Lodge. The Bass Inn has really gone down hill the last several years and I dont see it getting any better.

I usually stay at the Executive Inn. Ask them for one of their recently remodeled rooms. They are decent relative to the typical bass motel room. Goood luck!

My daughter and I stayed at the Econo Lodge when we were down there for a youth draw hunt and it was very clean and the staff was very polite.

We stayed there at the Bass Inn this weekend nothing wrong with the place it has a new owner and he knows people talk about his place he is putting a little money in it now so if you have not been there the last few months give the guy a break. We had plenty of hot water and fresh sheets evry night it's not the best place to stay but it's fine and you won't spend all that money to put your head down for just a few hours and then go fishing.
