Is a jig a good all year bait? i have had real good luck with the morning bite since mid march and have gotten pretty good at working the jig to my advantage, so i was just wondering if it is a good one for all year?

Yes, a Jig is always good. Just change with the seasonal patterns. As a general rule, the warmer the water the more distance a fish will be willing to travel. Until it get's real hot, then the presentation slows down again.

Try a white jig right now, and swim it around docks. Its a killer during the shas spawn.
And yes, jigs aree good year round. just switch it up a lot and figure out what works best for you. Its all about confidence.

You can fish the entire water column with the right assortment of jigs. Fish them fast or slow depending how the fish are feeling.
Some jigs and some plastics are all you need for most applications.

I keep three tied on with me all the time in the boat. The color jig will change depending on the water color and time of year.
