Guys staying here at the lodge are saying to get back in those newly flooded salt cedars. That is where the fish seem to be according to them. I personally have not been there since the water came up, but those salt cedars were THICK back then. Will be there next weekend to prefish federation T. Let us know how ya do if ya go.

Yep, the drought almost killed off the lake. It is coming back. but for a couple of years, it was back down into the old river channel and almost unfishable.

The salt cedars are holding fish. I`m hearing reports of lots of beds being spotted. Seems like the cedars are holding smaller fish but there have been some good fish come from the shallow water. The bigger fish are still out in the 8-15ft water. Topwater has been fair early and late. Senkos, flukes, spinnerbaits have been woking.

I don't think it is about the drought. The lake was hot last year. It took over 27 lbs. to win a big tx. I personally know of serveral fish over 7lbs to 11 lbs. caught last spring. I think it is the rising water levels that have got the fish and fisherman confused. You could fished the drops on the channel edge last year and catch a good string until it caught it's first large amount of water. After that the fishing got tough. It has had several increaces in pool level since last year. I think the fish are as confused as we are. Give it a year or two without pool level rises and it will be very good. Just my opinion.

a boring way to do it,but when i lived in odessa,i would clean up on the fish by drifting a carolina rig in the middle of the lake on the humps.
