Met up with Aggieraf at about 9:00 this mornin and we checked a couple of spots and found them at hidden cove, pretty decent surface action and lots of fish... prolly caught 150 at hidden cove and decided to look at some other spots... FISH ARE EVERYWHERE!!!!! almost every windblown point had fish on it and they where hungry!!!
It was really easy to spank em today didnt keep any fish but we caught fish at the golf cource at the boat cut in hickory creek.... Just aboutr every spot we stopped we caught fish. I guess we got about 200 for the day... Best day so far this year could have been my best day ever!!!
Got back to the ramp and Rookie07 called and said "lets go" so I went straight from little Elm ramp to hidden cove and met Rookie07 we went back out to the spot at hidden cove and met Zeek the greek, we did ok on the afternoon bite but not nearly as well as the mornin bite, all fish where caught on "mice" I guess the day ended with about 250 but I am whooped, white seemed to be the color of choice and the fish are still VERY shallow!!!
If you can get out there now is the time!!!
P.S. lots of little hybrids but not a single keeper...
Also call me crazy but I am willing to bet that the whites are crossbreeding with the hybrids I have been seeing allot of fish that I am just not sure... and the tooth patch thing dosent help! they have a tooth patch on either side of the tounge as well as a tooth patch in the middle of the tounge, I know a hybrid and I know a White and these are neither...

Nogeese I garontee you are correct. We have been seeing this more and more for the last couple years. I know exactly what you mean last year I had one we compared side by side with a white and a hybrid and it had features of both. Taste like chicken too. Lol just kidding. Sure am glad LL is getting back to go! We went to RR last week cause Lewisville had been so slow for us lately.

It sounds like the morning was the time to be out there. I headed out at 3:30 with the kids once they got home from school and it was kind of slow. We chased the birds straight north of the pump station for a while and that was ok but not great. Then we went back in the twin trees area and caught a few more but nothing like you guys are talking about. Then we ran into Zeek. I am shocked that he has not posted pics of his hybrid. All in all we kept 6 nice keepers and had a great day with the kids.

Ok, posted pic in new thread. Hey nogeese, about the tongue patch - ignore the patches on the sides of the tongue, just look at the one in the middle. It should be a single patch roughly triangular shaped. If it's elongated and/or you can see a line dividing it in two, then you probably have a hybrid. Whether its a hatchery hybrid or a hybridized hybrid is another matter altogether ...

This is killing me! My trim pump motor went out on me. $$ to fix. Timing is about the worst I can think of.

I don't want to be a dill hole.. but catching sandies day in and day out like some of you just seems boring..
The same people are always out looking for sandies and I just ask myself, why? Don't yall wanna mix it up.. LMB - Sandies - Cats -Gar..
Like today were were catching crappie on LL and once again I see the same boats out looking for sandies..
I counted 4 bass fishermen and 15 sandie fisherman from 3-9pm.
Whatever to each their own..
Wooo!

Whatever to each their own.. Some of us enjoy catching sandies!! I understand, you're maybe too good for us. That is what the Largemouth section is for.....

I got into whites and hybrids for my kids (9 and 13). Used to have my boat on Possum Kingdom and took them out fishing for largemouth three times and caught about 3 fish and thought I had lost them as wanting to be fisherman. When I am out there with a buddy, its usually to pre-fish to see if I can find them and then take the kids out that weekend. Also, I think if a guy wanted to really target hybrids, you could make that as challenging as LMB fishing and damn sight more challenging than catfishing. Like you said, to each his own

I fish for other freshawter species as well - lmb, catfish, etc - but they just don't get me as excited. It's just incredible to be on the lake and see acres of surfacing fish while sandbassin'. Don't get me wrong, I've caught a few nice largemouth and they really are fun. But they're just not as abundant. Likewise, enjoy catfishing as well, but it's a slower, sedate fishing.
Just my opinion.
