What can I say about the day I had with James Henderson? It was a post-front bluebird day, and while we did have to work for our fish I still caught more than enough to call it a great day. Well to start off he has a top of the line rig to fish out of and knows the lake very well. My first three fish in our first area was a five, then a 4+ and then a 3.5 with the five and the 4+ coming on back to back casts. Now I know for Fork those are not really bragging fish, but a start like that one will put a big old smile on my face each and every time without fail. Then I lost one that would have gone at least 6+ when I could not turn it away from a patch of floating vegetation in time. When we turned to bed fishing he took us to an area that had more fish than you could shake a stick (or even better a fishing rod) at. I have been bed fishing for years now but this was the first time that not only did both guys have their own fish to work, we even each had our choice of several to choose from to work. During one stop I had three separate fish I was working and ended up catching every one. At one point it was just a free-for-all of baits flying through the air after a miss, laughter and the occasional muttered curse (which by the way I will admit the curses was coming from me, James did not utter one cuss word the entire day) and water getting flung every which way as the bass would just explode off the beds when we would hook another 3.5 to 4 in just a foot of water. That bed fishing area was so good that when we were working our way out we saw fish after fish that had moved up since we first got there. James also showed me a neat new rigging trick for a very old bait, and one that takes the old bait up to a whole new level. For that matter he used a bait rigged like that to catch the big fish of the day, a beautiful fish of almost 7 pounds. Nopesorrynot going to sharehe was nice enough to share it with me after I flat out asked him what he was doing different and I would not feel right posting his idea. For the day I caught somewhere between 15 and 20 bass with the smallest going 2.5 and my largest at 5. I could have increased that number but stuck with larger baits and only worked the larger bed-fish. Worked for me let me tell you. So if anyone was considering going on a trip with James, I can only say I highly recommend doing so and that in the future I will not hesitate for one second to go with James Henderson.

James and I hit Fork this monday the 28th.
James Henderson is a local TFF'er that posted about 10 days ago about having open backseats at Fork, and based on others responses regarding their trips with him I jumped at the chance to go, and was very happy I did.

James actually started taking TFF'ers a while back, way more than 10 days. I think my first trip with him was late Feb, early March. Outstanding guy, great person. Been with James again, and my friends have fished with him also. I call James my friend, and I don't say that about many people.....
