On some lakes, carp are only caught at night.

yes I agree at stockton lake mo the catch rate was 100 -1 vs what you would catch at night vs day

I personally prefer the night to fish

no officer sir..... carp do not get "high" on hemp seed

Carp will feed at any time of day, HOWEVER, this will change with many different factors such as seasons, air and water temperature, wind directions coupled with water and air temps, light intensity, availability of food, air pressure, fishing pressure, human activity ie boats or bankside disturbance. To say that carp only feed at certain times can be true for a period of time but will always change due to constantly changing factors surrounding the Carp. On one lake the Carp will feed early morning, on another it'll be late afternoon, on a river it'll be night time only etccc.....The best way round this is to keep an ear out and find out when they're being caught and where and then fish to THEIR timetable, this cuts out the blanks, sometimes this means three lakes in a day but you'll catch three times the Carp!!!!!!

Coming from the north a lot of my carp waters only feed heavy evening into night. There is less pressure on the water then. I have only caught 4 I think during the daytime here. From 6pm on its great for me.

Carp can be caught 24 hours a day. I personally have not seen any advantage of night vs day, unless there is alot of fishing pressure during the day, but otherwise they seem to bite the same for me.

In the summer here, I carp fish almost exclusively at night.

This isn't as much for the carp, as it is for myself. By 10:00 am, it is getting terribly hot, and those mid to upper 80's at night are a lot easier to deal with.

Not to mention it gives the carp a better chance of survival because the water gets too hot at times during the summer, especially during the day!

There is a particular swim I visit often in the summer. The park opens at 6 am, and it is located just a few miles from one of my favorite places to go have a pint and a bite.

The place opens at 11:00 am, the challenge is to stay at the swim long enough for lunch.

ugh, it is coming soon too, summer is close.
