Need I say anything?

Went to Ray Roberts - hit the water just after 3pm, stopped about 6pm. Caught more than 140 in that time, all sandbass, mostly on vertical slabbing. There were a couple guys trolling through the working birds, boats, etc - while they were catching some fish, I don't think they realized how much more productive their fishing could've been had they just drifted or anchored up. Ah well.

I did wave a couple guys in a Ranger boat over to share the spot I was on - not like there was any shortage of fish there, what with my screen being blacked out most of the time. Wow. Had to frequently cull my livewell, as I kept catching bigger fish - when it was filleting time, the smallest I had was 12". Wow, what a day.

I love Isle Du Bois park, especially the fish cleaning station - seems worthwhile to pay for the annual pass. Saw Boston Bob coming in just as I was finishing my filleting (one of these days I'm going to have a speed competition against someone who's using an electric knife) - he & his buddy did way better than me. I think he said something like 370+ ... have a feeling his golf clicker broke.

May go out tomorrow afternoon ... of course, my arms are kinda sore now, so who knows? smile

Same thing here. I dont understand why everybody trolls so much. Have a buddy that catches what he says "alot" on crankbaits. We usually scan, find, turn into the wind and drift through. I feel you have a much better chance (especially when slabbin) on a slow drift. Its more controlled. We went out saturday and caught more than we could keep up with using 1/4 mod. Lil Georges. When we slab it seems they really prefer the Chrome/Blue. Great Job and happy fishing.

I have finals next week and then a month off before Summer School starts. I'm looking forward to a month of fishing on RR.

How much is the annual pass?

Just get them both... One for you and your wife. You also get a year's subscription to TX Parks and Wildlife, and a slew of camping disocunt coupons. Hoepfully, I may be using mine at Ray Bob this weekend.

Didn't realize till I read the link that the pass is good for a year from purchase - much better value for the money! Thought it was like the Lewisville lake park pass which is Jan - Dec of that year only.

Yea it was another sand bass slaughter out there. It seems like I caught several giant sand bass yesterday in the mix. Big wind in the forecast the rest of the week. That west wind was a change.

Zeek are you ready for an electric knife now? I can't imagine going old school on a mess of 100+ with a reg knife. Glad you got into them yesterday.

I might be asking the obvious but I haven't been to that many State Parks, does the pass include launch fees at boat ramps? It really looks like a good deal for lakes with State Parks. I like the fact it runs for a year from time of purchase.

Me and powered cutting tools just don't mix - I like keeping all ten fingers. As for 100+ fish, I only keep 25 at a time, so cleaning isn't too bad.

Bama, yeah, the park pass allows you in with use of the boat ramps, fish cleaning table etc.

Well I guess that seals the deal for me. I know what you mean about the cutting tools, me and knives in general don't usually meet up without blood showing up. blush
