My father is coming down from Kansas City to visit and we are planning on hitting Raybob this weekend. I haven't fished it in a couple of weeks and only caught a couple on a jig.
Can anyone share some updates on what the bass have been doing?
Any information is helpful, such as baits you've found working, type of water, structure etc. I would like to get him on some fish if possible so any tips are appreciated.
Thanks

Lizards, flukes, houdini shad around shallow cover just about anywhere. Fish slow.

Hmmm do a search on Ray Roberts There has been a few post about that lake. So I would start there, if that doesnt help just go into the little cove between the main forks of the lake. It has always been good to me. Just fish the trees in there the point of the cove on the right side as you are looking at it has a nice drop off on it.
can't catch fish if you arent at the lake...go fish!!!

Try here - you will have to sign up but it doesn't cost anything. Good RayBob info IMO. http://www.[censored]/forum it won't let me post the link. Try googling: Lake Ray Roberts fishing and see if she pops up! Should give you what you are looking for - look under bass and guide reports! Happy Releasing, Kansan

If you get out early try points that have grass stickups with a small white buzzbait and trailer hook. Maybe even a cordel crazy shad. Follow up misses with a slipshot or shakey head trick worm or robo worm. This may work the first our after sunup.
Caught a couple off of riprap last Saturday trying to stay out of the wind with a red spinnerbait and a chartruse spinnerbait. Later in the day try in coves with trees and grass with a spinner bait followed up be your favorite soft plactic.
Good luck. I may be there as well.

Thanks guys, I appreciate the input. Sounds like it is kind of hit or miss-like always on Ray Roberts. I'll post our results this weekend!
Thanks again.

Bassdreamer. I head up up there every weekend. Pick up some of Berkley's 5 inch Bass Stix jerk shad. I went last week and caught all kinds of fish. The more common ones are the 3 inch ones (which are great, but you need pretty small hook and some spilt shot 7 inches above your bait on your line) They have color resembles a trout with glitter that really seem to love! I would also recomend zooms finesse worm (watermelon seed/or a dark color), rigged wacky with some weight in the tip of the worm, fished pretty slow.
