Ok, so I'm trying to get familiar with the lakes around here. I've fished Arlington and Grapevine. Arlington kicked me and I kicked Grapevine. I have Wednesday off and so am wanting to fish either Eagle Mountain or Joe Pool as both are around the same distance from me. I'm wanting bass; big, catchable bass of course but wouldn't mind white/sand bass or crappie. I'll be in a tiny boat that'll be able to puddle around a few coves so wherever the sweet spot is I'll have to launch around there. Good part is that wherever there is parking and shore, I can launch. So what do you guys think? Should I try Joe Pool or Eagle Mountain. And around what area and what should I fish when I get there? Thanks!
-Sidenote- If anyone is fishing either of these Wednesday and will be out early and wants some company, I'd be great company. I'd pitch in for gas and buy ya lunch. -Sidenote Concluded-

I'd fish Joe Pool. You should definitely pick up good numbers of bass, with an occasional 4+ for good measure. I was out there today for a few hours and boated about a dozen with the biggest around 4 lbs.
However, seeing as the wind is going to blowing 20-25 mph Wednesday, a tiny boat might not be the best option. Hard to get out of that kind of wind and could be pretty dangerous.
As fas as where, find the grass in about 8 ft of water and you'll get bit. A green pumpkin worm was the ticket today.
If you do go out Wednesday, good luck and be very careful.

That wind doesn't sound fun. Maybe I'll try and find a hidden cove or something. Thanks for your vote. I have 1 for Joe Pool

Lots of parks with coves in them at the Pool. Easier access for you probably.

6 for Pool. I found out I have Thursday off of classes so I think I'll go fishing Thursday also. Any advice on where they are hitting at the Pool and what they are hitting on?

I want to give a vote for Joe Pool I have been there a few times this week and caught quite a few bass, I went tonight and pulled in a nice 4 1/2#. I would say be very careful of the wind on a little boat a friend of my cousin drowned out there a few years back on a little boat in the wind on Joe pool.Good luck!

Joe Pool = good sacks of fish being reported. EM = guys venting their frustrations as to how bad the lake is fishing right now. You make the call.

Well I don't want to have frustrations to vent about EM either, so it looks like I'll be going to Joe Pool lol.

fished a tournament at joe pool last weekend.. 2 7+'s a 6+ and 2 5+'s were caught and a few more 5's that were in the slot. i ended up with abotu 20 fish the biggest going about 3.5
the key is to find deeper grass, all the small ones caught were in about 2-3ft of water.. all of the bigger ones were in about 8-12ft of water.
all i threw was watermelon red flake baby rattlesnake. t rigged or carolina rigged. ripping traps thru the grass produces too
