We all have that one fish that we CAUGHT, you will never forget about. The one that sticks in your mind. It dosen't have to be in a tournament, just one you will never forget.

Toledo Bend lake record, 1998 @ 14lbs 11oz.
I was by myself with the net in the rod box. I always leave the net in the box when practice fishing. I did manage to get the net out, once I realized it was a bass ,I used my knee to open the rod box and while she was making a run I got the net with one hand while holding the rod with the other.Needless to say, it was very intense.

I didn't actually "catch" my most memorable bass. It was when I was about 13. I remember her jumping out of the water in that classic pose that bass do. Her mouth looked as big as a washtub. She sent my H&H spinnerbait back without the spinner or the hook. Had to be 10+.

Fish tremble at the mention of my name.

Fishing Lake Tyler one night in a Thursday night Big Bass T.
I pitched my worm next to a dock post and as soon as it hit bottom she hit it like a Freight Train. I set the hook and my thumb slipped and mashed the release bar -- Instant Backlash -- I grabbed the line and Set the hook again with the rod and then started pulling out the back lash. She kept taking line and by the time I got the back lash all the way out I was down to the spool and there was no free line at my feet LOL She had taken it all and ran down the bank about 3 piers down. I started working her closer slowly and about 5 minutes later got her in a Net. 7.5 not the best I have caught but enough to win the Tourney that night.....

MY most memorable as far as biggest was last year I landed an almost 9 lbr during a local evening tournament on my 2nd cast.

When you talk about the one that got away, I've had many even in tournaments but My bro and i were fishing Welsh i think in Janauary this year and we had fished our hearts our all day. HE worked a tree over limb by limb, very maticulaously and finally snagged her ,tuged a few times and she got wrapped and snapped the line. His momentum had taken his body in the opposite direction, we were both sick about that time i saw this HUGE (prolly 6 or 7lb) momma jump out of the water with his bait in her mouth. My bro wasnt facing that direction but knew by the splash she was THE WINNER. It was a sickening moment when i heard him say HOW BIG WAS SHE.................................................

WHY DID SHE HAVE TO TAUNT US, Life isnt always fair

I was fishing a farm pond in Arkansas just like we did every afternoon after getting off work on the farm. Was fishing with a small beatle spin and thought I was hung up on a root. I told my buddy that I was hung up on a root and he started laughing at me. Then my root started moving, at first we thought it was a turtle because of the dead weight but when she broke the water going straight up we were both shocked. We did not have any scales but she went about 6lbs. That was a great day lots of good memories on those farm ponds and I will never forget it.

Two fish come to mind...

Lake Arlington BBFT tournament. It was nearing the end of the tournament and dinks were all that had bitten. I pitched a Lake Fork Tackle Baby Creature along 'the wall' and felt a nice thump. I set the hook and chaos insued as that fish went into the piling, under my boat, around my trolling motor and finally into the net. RedSkeeter witnessed that catch before I even knew who he was. I was fired up and shaking like a leaf. Something like 4.56 lbs and good enough for the win.

Second fish was a 8.61 on Ray Hubbard earlier this year. This time it was a Lake Fork Tackle 1/2oz jig in Black Neon. Nice thump, short fight, quick net job by my outstanding partner. This fish was memorable because she was bigger than I thought and the biggest fish I have weighed in competition.

that fish right there in my signature.....
cypress tournament with media. they were weighing in at overlook and there is a roadbed there with hydrilla on the side. about 5 minutes before my check in, 4 fish in the box, ripped my crank bait out of a patch of grass and WHACK! rod almost flew out of my hands. so everyone is coming to check in and i hook this fish... goes around the boat a couple times finaly she tires out and goes on her side on the surface and i grabbed her behinde her head and was holding her under my arm like a football until she stopped flappin.

my girlfriend was at the ramp watchin me fish and she was like woah thats a big un! smile
it was awsome

When I was 10 my family moved back to the states. I had an opportunity to fish a farm pond with a friend. That evening I threw the tiny torpedo on a zebco 33. Right before dark I was making my last cast when at the time the fish of a life time exploded on it. It took all my drag, and I finally had to walk backwards to land the fish, she was an 8lber by bathroom scales. That started my obssession.

Well the most memorable fish for me was one my Dad caught back in 87 on Lake Pinkston. It was one of those days where it was 100 degrees in the shade and was just not a whole lot of action anywhere on the lake so we were dragging worms around along one of the creek channels. After only catching a couple all morning my dad was about ready to go so he starts packing up and getting everything ready when i tell him " Dad just make one more cast i want to fish just a little longer" so he does. Not 2 minutes later he sets the hook, his rod doubles over and the drag starts stripping and we both knew he had a good one. After a few awesome tail walks we put her in the boat. Turned out to be a beautiful 10.7. Ever since then he now takes at least 10-15 "one more cast" casts lol
