I have to say this has been one of the most difficult spawns to stay up with that I can remember. It seems like every day the crappie changes up the areas they are in. I do feel like the main reason for this is the water level falling. The water temps have been in the 70's and even 80's one day. So they should be up in shallows good. At times you can find them bunched up but most are scattered. I still look for the spawn to run into May a couple of weeks.
Even with the difficult conditions we have still been able to get some crappie going up shallow. All have been coming off jigs mostly in 1 to 2 foot of water.

My brother comes every year in April to go fishing. This year, he wanted to go Crappie fishing so I booked a trip with Cliff. Cliff treated our business and us with a great deal of respect. We both knew little about crappie fishing and Cliff spent great patience helping us out and working our lures out of the tree tops. Working them 9 foot rods took a bit getting use to. The man is incredible at helping retrieve tubes back after we had them in some stuck in some pretty tuff predicaments.

I have to admit that all the good stuff I heard about Cliff was true. Your a good man Cliff!

Ain't that the truth! My dad has never fished with 9 foot rods and got snagged 32432432 times. Cliff had great patience with him and taught him how to get those tubes free! My dad was good at getting them loose by the end of the trip! But in all respect, I never seen someone get himself out of trouble after getting hung up like Cliff. He's the man!

I'm booked to fish with him tomorrow at 3pm. Only problem is I can't find anybody to join me. I purchased a certificate during the holidays for two people, so it's already paid for. So if anybody wants to and is able to meet up at the Pecan Creek boat ramp at 3pm, speak now or forever hold your peace. I'm not sure about the weather, so keep that in mind.
