I think the bass are confused right now because of all the rain, raising water, dropping water, no water, and muddy water they have had the last couple of years. It has definitely been tough out there hopefully it will settle down in a month or so and they will get back to biting. Until then I feel your pain it $ucks right now.

I am thinking it is not just EM, I haver had some really good days on a few lakes but no so good on others. In fact some have been pathetic.

I think that the water temps have not heated up like normal. I mean I can not remember when at the end of April I have been finding some 63 degree water temps still. It seems to me in years past water temps have come up quicker etc.
Again more than likely due to the rain etc.

Who knows.

Regards

I'm in the same boat as Stacey - it's just about al of the lakes right now. All of the lakes that are full enough to be effected by 2-3" of rain are probably harder to fish right now.

When that type of rain comes and the gates have to be opened, a muddy, dropping water level w/ inconsistent temps are pretty tough to fish in. Or, as in my case, I may just be sucking it up pretty bad.

For my sake, I hope it's the muddy, dropping water levels w/ inconsistent temps.

Good luck,

-Alton

I agree with Alton at EML after these rains they let water out and its comeing into the lake also, its up and down. Its just inchs but it efects the fish. The bite seemed to be on yesterday but the lighting ran us off the lake.

Just stay at it. EM is a tough lake to figure out on a consistent basis. It does get way too much pressure though and I am hoping with all our lakes around here being in good shape water level wise that it gets a break.

Y'all have made me feel a lot better. After 1 great week about 2 weeks ago, EM has been eating my lunch. I totally agree that water up, water down, water clear, water muddy has really spooked the bass, Hopefully it will get a little more consistent soon.
Oh well, there's always tomorrow and I'll probably be embarrassed again!
