There is a boat that has overturned on lavon, below the damn and by the RR bridge. Near the area where they have been catching the Sand bass. They are showing live video from Fox 4 on the internet! Hope all is ok! Off of 78

It is very dangerous to approch that area at any time of the year. All we can do is pray for the families.

That water isn't running that fast. Approaching that spillway under the trussle in a jon boat would be every dangerous. If they were thinking that they could get over that and up to the dam, it was a mistake that may have cost them their life. I have fished down there almost every day for the last 3 weeks.

They have found the heavily damaged boat but no signs of the two that were in it.

Sorry to hear the news, Thanks Mark Howard for the concerned phone call. Yes I was at the lake ,but luckly hanging around my boat slip.
Jon boats are great fish catching vessels, but they can be overrated and especially over Weighted. Please use extreme caution in strong winds and Current. There is no fish worth losing a life over. My prayers go out to the families. frown

May the Lord be a comfort to these families in there time of loss. Way to many drowning's on our lakes in the last month. Wear your life jackets in moving water or anytime the outboard motor is running. Glad your OK Cliff. I have a nephew that fish's in that area all the time, I was really concerned as I know it is a popular crappie spot.
