Ventured into the main lake just to see how the Sandies were doing and they were doing just fine! Saw Royce (Gone Fishing Guide Service) and his party loading up, he told us that his party had a good time and though they did catch a number of small whites they scored a nice box of keepers.
We caught a number of fish also. The Hybrids were running with the schools. I kept a 20 incher and grilled it over charcoal with salt and pepper based with garlic butter and it was great! This was the first time I ever ate one and it was wonderful, very light.

When did you go? What did you use lures or shad? Thanks steve
The gene pool could use a little chlorine.

Lots of action with the larger fish returning from the Creeks where they've been doing their thing. Have one boat open Friday of this week, and a couple of Weekday openings next week. Fishing Morning & Afternoon Trips with both producing about the same. AM starts around 7AM, and the Afternoon around 1PM. Still offering our "Package Special" of a Cabin, Lunch and Trip for $299. (Holding our old rates even with the cost of gas going higher.) Give us a call if you want to get in on the FUN! dta, The "Package" is a Half Day Trip for Two, Cabin at Fisherman's Point Marina and Lunch at the Marina's Restaurant. each additional Fisherman is $75. Compare this against most folks Half Day rate of $300 and it'a a very good deal. Our Half Day is a minimum 4 1/2 hours of fishing and then we clean and bag your fish. All equipment is provided. We're booked on Weekends thru April, but have a Saturday or two open in May & June. Plenty of Weekdays after next week. Picking up an occasional Hybrid, but not like the last couple of Springs where we had a very good Hybrid bite going by early March. Probably the amount of water we've received and the Creeks flowing since February. Spillway Gates are about to be shut off and I'm guessing this may trigger the bigger fish bite. The big winds just now (5:01am), just passed I/45 at Corsicana.
It's 5:14am now and rain has deminished.
The big Winds (on the front edge) last about 5 minutes.
No damage at my house in/near Corsicana.
Good Luck.

I love to fish at RC, but I have noticed that people will speed through where you are fishing only arm links away, not only scattering the fish, but causing a huge wake! Plus you find fish and then people move in right on top of you and you can no longer cast to were the fish are nor can you put your line in as fear of catching their line!! I have no problem with sharing but you should give people room to fish and not take over, am I the only one that thinks this is rude? How do you all handle it? Advise?

but I have noticed that people will speed through where you are fishing only arm links away, not only scattering the fish, but causing a huge wake! Happens on every Lake, but if you fish it durring the week you should not have that problem. Or start crappie fishing, they wont do that stuff in the stump fields.
I love the lake, like Royce mentions all the time it does not get alot of pressure like other lakes.
I kind of figured with the cloudy morning and south wind it should be about time for the hybrids and sandies to start going crazy.
Royce does Adam have them crappie cornered up?
Hope you guys are doing well.

Mark I was up too expecting the big wind here at R/C. My house is on a point facing the north/west and I expected the worst! Thankfully it wasn't too bad and no damage done. I'm still gun-shy from the last big wind that but a tree in my house.
Hey did you guys here about the human body that was found in the lake down in the Wilderness last weekend? They only found the head and torso. Thats a heck of a prize to wash up under your boatdock.

Marc, Adam's Crappie have been hit and miss with the constant water fluctuations and the weather. I fished Wednesday with two locals that had mentioned the body being found. Haven't heard anything else pertaining to it, but believe it to be true. As far as folks being rude on RC...in my opinion, it's nothing compared to the Dallas area lakes, Texoma and a few others I've been on. Saturday's have your share of weekenders that don't know the lake and follow the Guides, but that's ok as long as they don't get in the boat with you. Good Luck and Good Fishin'! Wow Mark, you approve of people causing wake problems and scattering fish??? Maybe it was you that did that to me!!! If everyone was considerate we would ALL catch fish...sorry to here that you are not a real sportman! As if you were "other" fisherman show respect for each other, a win /win for all. People like you give fishing a bad name...sorry but RUDE and thoughtlessness, makes for bad fishing partners...I am surprised any one finds this acceptable...poor man...no buddies huh?? lol
