Went out with the wife today ... we took the kids to school with the boat on the truck, dropped them off and went straight to Caney Creek ramp(40 minute drive). Launched at 0900 crossed the lake with 2-3 foot rollers already cranked up.
Tried a couple of flats with the wind on 'em with a SB(white/silver/black skirt) and I picked up 2 about 2 lbs but it was hard to fish with the lady in the wind so I thought I could put her in some quieter water. We worked a couple of channels in 4'-6' back along some coves and one buckbrush flat just so she could get on some bucks and feel some pullin on the line.
Ended up with 12 when we had to leave at 1330 hours. Had 2 between 3 & 4 lbs a couple of 2 1/2lbers and the rest 12-14" fish. Wife had 6 of those ... good girl!
Except for the 2 SB fish all the rest came off wacky plastics in different hues of green. Couldn't get bit except wacky style. Lake was rollin' pretty good on the way back in the 20+mph winds!
Saw a few white perch guys catchin 'em pretty good!
