On many of my fishing rods, the sections have seperated during casts at least once. This can be costly, because last time I went out to Lake Calaveras the tip section flew out into deep water where I could not wade to and was too far away for me to reach. TO make matters worse, the line snapped so I could not rell it in and have the hook act as a stopper. I managed to get the rod back in the end. Any tips for avoiding this dilemma?

I have a tank of fish in my basement... if it were up to me, I would let them loose in my pool so I could fish in my backyard!
