That would really depend on the individual. I used to put a couple of hundred a year, but not so much now.

welcome to the TFF toadly.
average hours on an engine is a tough call. i'd say something like 30-50. keep in mind most guys will wear out a trolling motor long before putting a bunch of hours on an outboard.

When I scan them, most boats have between 50 and 100 per year.
Guide boats will have more hours, but be ran less hard. Average RPM's will be 3500 or less.
Tournament pro boats will have some hours on them, and have more Wide Open Throttle time than others. Average RPMs will be 5000 or more.
Weekend warrior boats will be average, with most of the RPMs around 3500-4500 RPMs.

I have had my rig for 6 years. I fish over 100 days each year. I am approaching the 400 hour mark. Rarely do I use the outboard more than 30 minutes per trip and 6-8 of that is the initial warm up before taking off.

well, it has to have some sort of ECM. anyways, i wanna see the guys who can test the 4 stroke 20,000 hour mark!
