i can't seem to find any rules for the co-anglers on the website. is it a random drawing for getting selected or first-come first-served? do you fish w/ the same pro all 3 days? can you discuss strategy w/ the pro? being that i grew up fishing falcon and have a free place to stay on the lake, i'm definitely going to attempt to get in next year.

send fishkiller a pm on here and ask him all about it. i think he is fishing the ABA grandslam today on richland chambers today and tomorrow, but he can answer that question. if it is like the other BASS tourneys, it is a draw for boaters each day, and probably wouldnt discuss strategy with the pro unless he asks.

Hello again,

I dont know where the co-angler rules are but here is some info.
I do know you fish with a different pro each day. Third day is for top 50 only. You find out your pro the night before the 1st day of fishing.
To register you need a little bit of luck, it helps to be a Federation member, and it helps more if you have a lifetime membership to BASS. You need to register the 1st hour available as well. It is tough to get a spot and probably even harder next year as everyone will want to fish Falcon if they go there next year.

Hope this helps a little.

i have never been that lucky to fish as a co in a pro tourney. I would imagine the pros dont share much info with the co's, due to the fact that some of the co's room with a different pro than the one they get drawn for.

They tell you the registration opening date. You stand by and be REALLY fast when they open up at midnight and try to get in on the internet registration. It filled up less than 10 min. for Falcon and 15 for Amistad. First Come First serve.
Standard Pro/Am tournament. Draw different partner each day.,Luck of the draw each day.

Go Big or Stay home. Take the heaviest gear you have. Don't show up with less than 7'6" flipping gear and 65-80 braid. Done tried it and it don't work. East Texas Grass Rakes are Fairy Wands down there!!!!

not true at all. if you respect the fact that they're in the office and you are on vacation, they will share TONS of info with you. I had 3 pro's that were more than simply informative.

As it was explained to me by a friend fishing the tournament this week as a co, the co can not share any information at all with his pro about locations, techniques or baits, nothing to help him find or catch fish. You're basically there for a ride along. I'm sure that's why Debra ended up doing as poorly as she did.

Thats true - you can't say a word about how to locate or catch fish. you have no input on where the boat goes or how it gets there. but the pros can share any and all info with you.

and if your pro sees you stick a pig in a submerged bush in 30 foot of water on an 18" texas rigged worm, he can use that info to his advantage.

It is all about who you draw if you want to do good as a co angler. If the pro is not on fish you can not help him at all so that means you are not going to do good either.
