Recently I was fishing in Lake Calaveras when I found an old lure amongst a pile of trash. It has a wonderful action and I want to know if anybody knows what it is. It is a plastic crankbait that was silver with black stripes. It has a hole right above the lip that leads to a system of tunnels that carry the water out of some holes on the top and the bottom of the lure.It is about 2 and a half inches long. Judging by the way the hooks were so old that they crumbled when I touched them, it was a very very old lure.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, because I would like to go out and buy more!!!
I have a tank of fish in my basement... if it were up to me, I would let them loose in my pool so I could fish in my backyard!

Dave, a picture of it would help tremendously.

The Aquasonic Chatterbox looked like a old Pico Perch with the holes in it. I have several and they were from the 70's not the 80's probably started around 1975 if I remember right. Johnny

Wow, they look cool. I have never seen them, but have heard of others like them. You planning on using it or keeping it?

The Aquasonics were made in the mid to late 70s in Cibolo, Tx. They had the Chatterbox, shown in a previous post. The Chatterbox Too,, which had a blade on the back instead of a hook. They also had the Big Undertaker, Lil Undertaker, Lil Noisy and the Deep Baby Noisy. I have about 100 of them in different models. Hopefully one of these in the picture is the one you are talking about.

Do they just not work? They look and sound like a good idea, but my tackle box is full of good ideas that I don't have success from.
That's why they call it fishing and not catching!

Markk, none of your pictures match the lure I found. It is a lipped crankbait, similar in shape to a modern Rapala Dives-To but is plastic and has the holes. I couldn't find any pictures of an Aquasonic, but looks nothing like a.... hold on, while i was writing this response someone showed me a picture of the lure. Sorry I couldn't get a pic, thanks Rocky Robinson! that is exactly what I found.
