i have several shimano crucial baitcast rods, all 7', and keep having the eyelets on the tip fall out or the tips just breaking. i love these rods but starting to be too much trouble. they have lifetime warranties and keep getting them fixed free, but for 130 bucks they should hold up better. anybody else having this problem?

I have three crucials & I had one rod tip break, the others are holding up great.I think the rods are great, bass pro told me that G-Lumas made the rod for shimano. I also had two 7 1/2' two piece G-Lomis rod tips break until I told them I would trade them in for the one piece, two years & there still doing great! Maybe we got A Monday or Friday rod but I think there both great rods because of the sensitivity & lightness of them, don't give up,keep fishing brother!

Shimano bought Loomis, the crucials share the same blanks but that is it to my understanding.

John A., Bass Pro lied to you. The Crucials are made in China by Shimano. The blanks are not G. Loomis blanks. Loomis did make the Shimano V Rods but Shimano never said they were made on Loomis blanks. However, I have compared the V Rod blank to the Loomis Casting rod series blank and I am faily certain that the V rod was made on a Loomis blank. Again, the Crucials and the Cumaras are not made by Loomis nor are they on Loomis blanks. Both are made in China by Shimano.

I have had one insert come out of the tip on my crucials. It was my fault bacause I know i slapped it on a wall in the house. Then next trip out it shattered.
If you crack them or mis shape the metal ring, then its done for. Take it back and get a new one. Thats what the warranty is for.

From G-Loomis
Shimano bought us out 11 years ago. We still manufacture all our rods and blanks right here in Woodland, Washington. We still have the core group running our company and Gary has an office here as well. We still get input from him but most of the time he is fighting for fish rights with either Fish First or Coastal Conservation

thats why i switched to falcon. I have and use a lot of Falcon rods, but just try to warranty one. 3 weeks later and the cost of shipping you will finally get your replacement.

Knock on wood, I've never had a problem from any of my Falcon rods. I've had 6-8 lowriders, and that many or more Caras. I bought my 1st Crucial spinning rod at Christmas and like it, but haven't used it a whole lot yet. Coach
