Just got back from 5 days of neked fishing at Amistad. Caught so many fish my shoulders and tatas hurt. They're eatin flukes, senkos, lizards and top waters. You will have a blast if the wind dont blow.

Just came from there last night. Wind was very cooperative and you can catch over 100 per day if you want to. I am headed back the end of next month.

I would love some info as well, my sister and i are going to be fishing the afternoon tomorrow. Not interested in big fish but would love to just catch numbers wherever I can, anything that can help her catch fish. She gets just as excited about a 2 pounder as some would over a 8 pound! LOL Any help is appreciated, thanks, Brandon

I live here and it is a great lake but to catch 100 a day you better have 3 in the boat and fish from daylight till dark ,and then it will be seldom. A few years back this lake did'nt recieve the pressure it does now and it probably happened a lot. but not now. great fishin but you probably would do much better on your home lake!!!!!Go to Fork!!

i just got back from there a couple of hours ago. All i can say was Damn the weather channel for lying to me about the weekend weather!!! It was cloudy and in some spots rainy or sprinkling all day. It was rough for us but we managed to land some 2lbers and 3's. From what i saw in the coves and creeks the females were no where in site. All bucks holding to the nest and were protecting like crazy. The water on saturday was in the 60's. The next day it had dropped down due to a small cold front had came thru with the same weather pattern. We had a blast fishing both sides. Check out Evan's creek and Exxon cove for some good action. Castle Canyon was hitting as well with senko's fished in 15-20 ft. Good luck if you go out there. We also got to meet JC and some of the crew at the Angler's Lodge. (Sorry JC the visitors info center was closed couldn't get you any extra maps!!!) All in all it was a good fishing trip hope to have many more.

Jvon, you left Fork for Amistad. Is the grass greener on the other side?
