http://www.dfw.com/mld/dfw/news/local/7298895.htm This is pretty exciting if you ask me. The thought of improving the water quality alone is worth it.

It's been on paper for some time. I'm glad to see it makeing progress. Progress and politics, is that an oxymoron? None-the-less, I'm looking forward to it as well.

My younger brother works for the Tarrant County Water Distric. He and his crew take care of the trinity from the little power plant down close to the zoo. He's been tellin' me they were gonna do something like that. They also are fixin' to stock trout, you know those srtipper baits.

DOES ANYONE KNOW WHY THEY SPEND SO MUCH MONEY AND EFFORT STOCKING TROUT EVERY WINTER? WHY NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY ON STOCKING PERCH AND BASS,CRAPPIE IN THESE SMALLER AREAS? NEXT SPRING THE AREAS YOU STOCKED ARE RIGHT BACK WHERE THEY STARTED WITH NOTHING IN THEM BUT CARP. FORT WORTH IS AHEAD OF DALLAS AGAIN. FORT WORTH WILL BE DONE WITH THEIR PROJECT 10 YEARS BEFORE DALLAS STARTS.

Does anyone here do any good fishing for trout?
Last year I paid $5 for the stamp, went to a park in Alllen, and watch about 30 - 40 people all standing around with hooks in the water, not one fish was caught.

I GUESS MY QUESTION WAS ANSWERED.30-40 PEOPLE PAID 5 BUCKS APIECE TO FISH THAT ONE LITTLE POND. THEY USUALLY CATCH MOST OF THE TROUT THE SAME DAY THEY PUT THEM OUT, SO YOU NEED TO BE THERE WHEN THEY DUMP THEM. THEY WILL GIVE YOU A SCHEDULE.THOSE TINY TROUT HIT ANYTHING WHEN THEY FIRST DUMP THEM.

I always did good with the trout, but the last 2 years has sucked for me. I like using a little bait called a SuperDuper. I think the commarants (water turkey) clean the trout out of the ponds pretty quick.

the trinity river along trinity park has always been good in the past, although I will say that the last couple of years have been slower. They dump trout on either side of the rock dams (walkways) several times thru out december. The commarants seem to get theirs and more so you need to be there early. Berkley trout power eggs (orange) seem to always work for me. Great fun for the kids.

I agree timing is critical. Try to get there the same day they are stocking if you want to get your limit. Otherwise, come back at odd hours of the day and give it a shot when the pressure isn't as great. I've always managed to take some home each year. But I do agree, spend the money on stocking bass, crappie, panfish. The returns will be much better!!! ------------------ Wanna catch something bigger? Rough Fish Anglers Group
