I noticed that no water was coming from the pee hole on my engine. The engine temp is fine and no overheating is occurring. I am assuming that my tell tell line is clogged. Has anyone had any luck blowing that line out with air or should I take the line off and clear it?

Some times dirt dobbers will build a nest in there also. If you fish a lake with grass and chop it up with your prop it will also stop up the plug. You can try blowing the line backwards but if the clog doesn't break up enough then it will just move back down again. If this is a new problem then keep an eye on your water temp to insure it is not the cold weather keeping things within limits and that your water pump is not "busted".

I keep a long piece of lockwire in the boat to run up the tattle-tale hose to clear it. Hoping its that simple and most of the timeit is.

Saw some place where someone uses weedeater line to unclog it. Maybe in the Boats & Motors forum, where they discuss boat & motor issues.

A/T SMALL ENOUGH TO REACH IN THERE WILL WORK, I USE THE WIRE MYSELF THAT HOOKEM UT BASS USES, HAPPENS WHEN YOU GET SHALLOW, MOSTLY LAKES WITH DRILLA ON IT. BUT DO WATCH YOUR WATER TEMP, SOONER OR LATER IT WILL START TO OVER HEAT, IT IS NOT NORMAL FOR IT NOT TO BE SPITTING OUT OF THE ENGINE.

duck weed can cause stoppage ,next time your at car wash shoot a little water up it and it will break it free

i was on the lake today with one of my buddies on his boat. his was clogged first it was just dripping we ran across the lake then as i was throwing the net he pulled the cowl off and pulled a line loose and water shot out good. put it back together and it was running fine then. he did it when the motor was running so the preassure of the water cleared it out.
