Tourney update/info:
1. Park in designated areas only.
2. Let the people @ the gate to the parks know you are coming to the group shelter/pavillion for the registration/tourney and it won't cost the $4.00 for entry into the parks. This applies to April 11th and 12th. (pass this info on to all since the info is not on the flyers)
3. I'll be @ the pavillion/group shelter @ 2:00 p.m. on 11 April for earlybird registration. I would highly suggest that the TFF'ers reading this register Friday. I will be closing down registration @ 0645 sharp on the morning of the tournament (If you are not registered by this time whether in line or not then you do not qualify for fishing the tournament)...
4. This is an artificial/live bait tourney, no pole limit.

5. Boaters/bank anglers allowed for the tourney.
5. There is not alot of boat trailer parking @ the Fox Park West ramp by the pavillion/group shelter. Suggest getting to the lake early or launching from the other ramps and beaching along the shore @ the pavillion.
6. Needed to clarify some rules. $25.00 per person whether you are on the bank as an individual or 5 people in a boat. Each angler fishing can weigh 7 fish or each team can weigh 7 fish, however you wish to do it. That is your choice. (Seems to me that each angler weighing their own fish ups the chances of winning more money)
Reason being is the bank anglers never get a chance to fish tournies and I feel that just ain't right. (I used to be one of them and still do when I fish my local city lake)Registered bank anglers can fish as a team if they have a partner and choose to do so. This is a for fun tournament so everyone that fishes this little gem can get to know each other and share info.
Fish fry afterwards with the fish we catch (hope you all donate a few, @ least the 7 that you weigh. BRING YOUR FILLET KNIVES).
[color:#CC66CC]7. This is a biggy. All anglers will be required to start from the pavillion @ 6:45 a.m. Fishing time starts @ 7:00 a.m. That allows time for boaters as well as bank anglers to get to their spots to fish.

8. This has been a learning experience for me. I can definitely take constructive criticism to improve it next year. Can't make the whole world happy. Hope to see you there to catch some fish and have fun...
9. CAUTION: TXP&WD laws apply. Fish under the legal limit of 10" will not be weighed. GW's will be present for weigh-in.[/color]

I have made certificates for the 1st/2nd/3rd//big fish winners. Also have certificates made out for our junior anglers for 1st/2nd/3rd/big fish as well as participation certificates for all the kids (15 years of age and younger).

There will be a fishbowl setup for donations to offset the expenses of the tourney i.e. Pavillion rental and expenses for the fish fry. Left over monies will go to payoffs. Remember you will save 4 bucks from park entry if you are fishing the tournament.

I have a few fishing items for a raffle to those that fish the tourney. Still looking for more donations for the raffle. Here is the list of items as of now:

2-Fish Tacos from Crappiemaster
3-Crappie 101 dvd's from Ernest
Numerous Jig packs from Matthew @ Jigum Jigs
1-10' proanglertackle rod from proanglertackle.com.
2-Zebco Slabseeker SLDL20 Spinning reels.
1-Lake Granger Laminated map
1-Crappie vehicle decal

Your angler card will qualify you for the drawings.
Thanks to all who have contributed. Want to thank Koobycrappie, Ralphy, Time2gofish and the generous sponsors that gave us raffle items for assisting me with this tourney. flehan

Will this be an individual or team tourney? If it is individual can two people still fish together?

Yes 2 people can fish together but each will have to pay the entry fee. Reason being is it is open to all anglers. Boaters/bank anglers.

Keep on fishing.

DB what did the COE have to say? Treebass said you all had a great time the other day.... This will be a lot of fun if a lot of folks show up.

Just got home from the Corp of Engineer office. The powers to be were not in the office today. Did have a nice conversation with Brenda (very nice lady by the way). Left a flyer with her and she said she would pass it on to the boss. Still in limbo until I here from the COE. Keep your fingers crossed. noidea

Just received a call from Granger,TX PD. From what I got from the officer is they were the sponsors for the Granger Lakefest last year and it seems the organizer of that event is unavailable this year. Have a meeting next Wednesday to discuss the tourney and hopefully other events.

Keep on fishing.
