I always pig out on the hotdogs that the Boy Scout troop sells at the fishery (reasonably priced at that). Robin, is the Bean and Burger a "don't miss" locale?

Do you know what vendors will be there? Will you be selling leaders or anything there Robin?

Not sure what all vendors will be there. I'll be doing furled leaders demo and could be talked into selling a few off I guess.

Well it sure was a great day for the Fly Fishing event there in Athens today. If you didn't go you missed out. I got to meet rrhyne and buy a furled leader from him. Looks like a great leader, I can't wait to try it out. The weather was great. Good thing it wasn't yesterday. The weather yesterday was awful. My redbud tree was in full bloom, and the snow looked like a blizzard yesterday. It got cold last night too. Today warmed on up and the sun was shining. What a beautiful day it was. I met a couple of other folks that come to the Texas Fishing Forum today too. So all in all it was a perfect day.

It was a very nice day to be fishing. I was very surprised with how slow the bite was (I've fished there a couple times already and have done much better), but the size of the trout caught was much larger than in the past. We caught a few in the 1.5 to 2 lb. range.

Robin, great call on the Bean and Burger. I think I got my money's worth on the three scoops of Bluebell alone. Sorry I wasn't able to drop by your furled leader demo (both because I wanted to meet you and I wanted to see how you make the leaders), but the two guys with me were ready to go and weren't too agreeable to a delay. Were you in the main building our the smaller on next to the new pond?

I was out in the new Conservation bldg. south of the pond.

Saturday was a fun day at Athens. It started out cold but turned into a very nice afternoon. It was good to see everyone again.

It was good to see everyone at the Bean and Burger. I sure missed the demo Robin had. I was trying to get casting lessons...I got there a little late too. It was almost ten before I showed up. By the time my casting was over, it was almost lunch time. I had to wait for the next class. They had the casting lessons set up SO MUCH BETTER this year than the other time I went.

Great day, glad to see everyone. its a good sign when there is so much going on that you can't get to all of it!

Bret ( TXfishes ) and I went out there for Dave's presentation on carp on the fly, and wandered the grounds a while.

We skipped the Bean and Burger in favor of the Jalapeno Tree, Mmm.

Sorry we missed y'all. I think the hard thing is nobody knows what the other person looks like LOL. I was wearing a orange hat. I was trying to cast out there for a while, and doing a poor job at it. You may of seen me with my son. But most of the time he was off by himself wandering around. He was with a bunch of boys by the Conservation Bldg as they tried to catch trout out of a little pool, not far from the bridge.
