I think it's a great idea, and you'll just have to trust everyone...how the heck would you police that?

Honor "No Sweat" honor! Honor among fishermen is kinda an oxymoron isnt it haha! I guess it they've got a 30 gallon bait tank in their boat that would be the first clue--same way we make sure they didnt catch the fish the night before--just gotta trust them I guess.

Went out on Tawakoni Saturday and the 7lb Hybrids came up around 4pm North of the Bridge near the pump station.. The Birds were rafting in the Middle of the Lake like they knew the action was getting ready to happen.

When it relates to catching big fish bait makes for a great tournament.Sitting on a spot with three inch shad catching the same size fish one after another is not tournament fishing.
Fishing a ten inch shad for the largest of striper in the lake is exactly what tournament fishing is about.

You are required by the tournament rules to weigh the heavy (fish) or fishes. If bait is allowed then the art of catching big fish with bait is very much a tournament. Not gitting on you Jason
Just trying to give you my outlook.

I know several who'd be in on that one. Go ahead and sign Team Shallow Blonde up if it happens.

Shoot, let's go to Belton in May!

Sounds good, Team Fools 4 Fishing will be there! You folks won't regret it! Belton is a beautiful lake to have a tourney.

Stripers, hybrids, and if you can catch an 18" sandy can all be weighed.

You can catch big fish without bait--we won last year--Texoma tournament(by about 6lbs if I remember) and took 3rd this year and we never even considered using bait.

Not really because TSA allows you to catch the bait before the tournament. I would have less of a problem with it if you had to catch the bait during the tournament. You could probably pay someone to catch bait for you if you wished and still be withing tournament rules. Again just my opinion--I really like the TSA just saying what I think could make it better.

Jason,

You are talking about "winning" and "taking third" in only one of the many tournaments the TSA run!!!! Texoma. Just happens our best finish was on Texoma, and with lures. And we got beat by bait. So I guess we should be fishing more bait. What's your bi&%$ with bait?? Come to more than one tournament a year, then tell me you want them all artificials only. There are times it's hard enough to catch them with bait!!! Or are you just that good that you can catch them anywhere, anytime, on artificials only?

I tell you i dont like fishing with bait to much work, but i am not changing any more rules for 2008 unless we get some volunteers to to help with the the TSA. Anyway how am i going to know if you caught them on bait or plastic, I know there is a honor and trust in fishermen, but as director and president i need a way to police it.

The entry form should be up on the website this week for Texoma.
Dont forget we will have a small get together the Friday before to give some Year end trophys out..
