Ouch! Out of curiosity I checked some prices today, atk engines from Napa are something like $7000 for my 5.4. That’s double the price they were just 2-3 years ago. Not that I’d ever buy another atk product, they’re poor quality junk in my experience and their warranty department is an absolute nightmare. I think I paid $2700 for a ford engine back in 2020. Transmissions went from about $1800 to $3000 give or take for a 4R75W. The vendor in Dallas I used to use for AER products is out of business, might be cheaper to get one from a dealer than a parts store at those prices. Take care of your stuff folks, big jobs aren’t getting any cheaper and labor rates are getting high.

LKQ engines were 3500+ for low mileage engines then. Nothing rebuilt or used was any cheaper, I searched widely before reluctantly getting rid of my f150.
