I was at the in-laws for Easter. They are big farmers and told me about this John Deere grease they use on tractors. It’s NLGI grade 2 and NLGI GC-LB rated so it’s approved for wheel bearings. I’m thinking about it because it’s clear and cleans up easy. No more black grease on my clothes or boat. Anyone tried this for a boat trailer wheel bearing?

No. They sell marine grease for a reason. A tube of super tech marine is like $5 at Walmart. You only have to do it once or twice a year, why take a chance on something so cheap?

Why does blue and red grease turn black? I wonder how long clear grease stays clear.

They test it by seeing how slick it makes pork butt

I bought a tube of AeroShell 64 and I decided to read the label. It's in 4-5 languages. (It's not for wheel bearings, Im just looking at it).

I bet this stuff is kosher too.

I went ahead and repacked the bearings with Lucas Marine. I know that stuff is proven. I will be using the JD grease for lubrication on the motor, steering and on my other boat with the outboard jet. The jet bearing has to be lubed after every use an it gets all over the jet pump when I do. I appreciate all the input.
