If you were fishing a jig with braid, would you use mono leader? If so, what pound mono would you use with 50-pound braid?

Be safe,

Unless the water's exceptionally clear, just tie to the braid.

None
Wouldn't use mono at all
I would only use braid in grass, no leader. as much as I love jigs, I don't use them much in grass.
I don’t particularly like to skip with braid either.
I use 14 to 20 pb fluoro on jigs

A lot of times I am using a jig when I want to punch through heavy cover. In this situation a leader would really negate the purpose of the heavy braid.

Rayzor, no need for all that mess. Mono or flouro unless you're in deep, heavy grass.

Several variables, and subjective preferences.

I use 15lb Pline CXX copoly leaders (with braid mainline) for jigs. I feel I get a better, deep burrowing hookset with a slightly stretchy leader......instead of with no stretch braid. With straight braid and big hooks, I feel my risk of ripping or tearing instead of deep burrowing increases.

I also dislike straight braid around wood/timber.....which I fish a lot.

If this is around lily pads/reeds/lots of aquatic vegetation.......I'd just stay with straight braid.

Keep one tied on all the time. Suffix 832 50lb braid to flouro 20 to 25 lb Tatsi leader depending on cover. FG connection knot. Leader is 10 to 20 feet long although many people go much shorter.
